Guide · SubTasks alternatives
Looking for a SubTasks alternative?
SubTasks turns a dynamic into a game, and does a remarkable amount without asking for payment. Some couples find their dynamic wants more than points and streaks. What SubTasks does well, why couples move on, the alternatives, and how to switch.
What SubTasks does well
SubTasks is generous. Unlimited tasks — daily, weekly, one-off and challenges — points, streaks, achievements, rewards, punishments and demerits all work without paying anything, and there is a solo mode for people without a partner yet. Its paid plan adds chat, timers, unlimited photo proof and notes.
If the scoreboard is what makes your dynamic fun — levelling up, earning points, spending them on rewards — SubTasks does that better than most, and it is hard to beat on cost.
If the game is the point for you both, SubTasks is hard to beat.
Why couples look elsewhere
- The dynamic outgrew the game. Points work well for tasks. They fit less well around standing rules, protocols, permission and how somebody is actually feeling.
- Welfare and check-ins. We could not find mood check-ins on SubTasks’ site. Couples who want a regular, honest word about how the submissive is doing look for an app built around that.
- Asking permission. Many dynamics run on asking first. We could not find permission requests named on SubTasks’ site.
- Chastity. We could not find chastity tracking on its site either, which matters to couples who keyhold.
- The web. SubTasks is in the app stores; we could not find a browser version.
Points are not the problem
It is worth being clear that there is nothing wrong with keeping score. For plenty of couples, points and levels are a playful way to make obedience visible, and a reward earned feels better than one simply given. The trouble only starts when the score becomes the whole of the dynamic: when a missed task matters because of the number rather than the person, or when nobody asks how the week actually felt because the chart already says it went well.
If that sounds familiar, the fix may not be a different app at all. It might be a weekly conversation, a few standing rules written down, or a daily check-in alongside the game. Our check-in questions are a good place to start.
Questions to settle before you switch
- Do we want to keep the points? If points and achievements are part of what you love, pick an app that has them, or keep SubTasks for tasks alone.
- What are we doing outside the app? Rules in a note, check-ins over text, a lock-up timer somewhere else — that list is your brief.
- Are we willing to pay? SubTasks’ plan with no payment sets a high bar. Be honest about whether the features you need are worth a subscription.
The main alternatives
Described from each app’s own website. Our comparison page sets them out side by side.
Kneel keeps points and streaks but adds rituals, permission requests, daily check-ins, contracts and chastity, in both app stores, with one subscription for the dynamic and a plan with no payment. If you want to stay in the app stores and keep some of the game, start here. Our Kneel guide says more.
Obedience is a habit tracker with points, rewards and punishments, on phones and the web — a similar spirit to SubTasks with a different style.
Chaster is the specialist if chastity is the missing piece. See our guide to chastity apps.
My Dynamic, which we make, puts structure and welfare ahead of the score: rules, protocols, permission, check-ins and chastity in one private web app. More on it at the end.
Moving across without losing momentum
- Write it all down. Every task, reward, punishment and challenge you use, before you leave.
- Sort what you have. Some tasks are really daily rituals, some are standing rules. Moving is the chance to make each the right kind of thing.
- Decide what replaces the points. If you are leaving the game behind, agree what recognition looks like now — praise, a reward, a goal reached — so the motivation does not vanish with the scoreboard.
- Start on one day, together. And review after two weeks.
Replace the scoreboard with something, or the motivation goes with it.

How My Dynamic helps
My Dynamic treats tasks, rules, protocols and asking permission as different things, because they are. Tasks can need photo proof and are finished when the Dominant says so; protocols keep a fair streak, with skips asked for rather than missed; rewards, goals and milestones give you something to work towards. Alongside them sit mood check-ins, a journal, a private chat, a shared calendar and chastity lock-ups, all in one private web app with one subscription for you both. See the tour of the features.
Everything above, kept between the two of you.
