We have tried to make it fair: every fact about another app comes from that app’s own website, we have not guessed at anything we could not find, and where another app is the better choice for somebody, we say so. All five are made for adults in consensual D/s or chastity dynamics. The differences are in what each one is built around.

My Dynamic is built around the whole relationship rather than one part of it. Tasks with photo proof, standing rules, asking permission, daily protocols with streaks, mood and energy check-ins, a journal, a private chat and a shared calendar that can read your Google or Apple one — plus chastity lock-ups with cage checks, a wheel, cleaning breaks and a way out of a lock-up that can never be switched off.

Consent is built into how it works. Some things need both people to say yes before they start, limits and safewords are written down where both of you can see them, and either of you can pause the dynamic at any moment. One subscription, $10 a month or $69 a year, covers you both, and the basics — pairing, chat, tasks and rules, protocols, check-ins, the journal, trips, consequences, the family tree and whereabouts — keep working after the 14-day trial without a subscription. The trial comes once per person, with the first space you start or join.

It is a web app, not an app-store app. You add it to your home screen from the browser.

That is a real trade-off. It means it works on any phone or computer, updates arrive without anyone noticing, and there is nothing in an app-store account or on a bill with its name on. But if you would rather download from the App Store or Google Play, the next three apps below are there, and My Dynamic is not. How installing it works.

Obedience is a habit tracker for couples in a BDSM dynamic. The Dominant sets habits and tasks, the submissive keeps them, and points, rewards and punishments keep score. It is straightforward to get going with, and it runs on iPhone, Android and the web.

Its paid plan is priced per person — $6.99 a month or $29.99 a year each — and its own site says the full experience needs both partners on it. There is a no-cost version with up to five habits. We could not find mood check-ins, a journal, chastity tracking, a chat or a calendar on its site; its makers publish a separate journaling app, Embrace.

Best for: couples who want a simple habit and points tracker, and who like having it in the app stores.

Kneel is the closest to My Dynamic in scope. It covers tasks with photo proof, rituals with streaks, permission requests, daily check-ins with mood trends, contracts, and chastity tracking where only the Dominant can release. It puts a lot of weight on privacy, with end-to-end encrypted proof photos and a Face ID or fingerprint lock.

One subscription at $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year covers both partners. It has a generous plan with no payment, and it is in both app stores. We could not find a web version, a separate chat, a shared calendar or a wheel on its site.

Best for: couples who want tasks, rituals and chastity together in a phone app from the app store, and who put biometric locks high on the list.

SubTasks is a game-style task manager. The Dominant assigns tasks, the submissive earns points, streaks and achievements, and there are rewards, demerits and a points shop. It has a private journal the Dominant can react to, shared task kits, and a lot of it works with no payment at all — unlimited tasks, points and streaks included.

Its paid plan is $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year, with a lifetime option, and one subscription covers both partners. Chat and unlimited photo proof are on the paid plan. We could not find chastity tracking, permission requests or mood check-ins on its site.

Best for: couples who love points, levels and streaks, and anybody who wants to spend nothing at all.

Chaster is a chastity app rather than a relationship app, and a very well-known one. It runs timed locks with a keyholder who can change their length, and add-ons such as a wheel of fortune, dice, tasks and verification pictures. Like My Dynamic it is a web app you add to your home screen.

The biggest difference is that Chaster is also a community. A keyholder can be a partner, but other members can add time too, and profiles can be public. Its paid plan, Chaster Plus, is €9.99 a month, and for a shared lock only one of you needs it. We could not find rules, check-ins or a journal on its site.

Best for: chastity on its own, especially with an online keyholder or the wider community rather than a partner.

If you want the lowest cost, SubTasks does a great deal without payment. If you want an app-store app that covers tasks, rituals and chastity, look at Kneel. If it is chastity on its own, or a keyholder you have not met, Chaster is built for that.
